The SUFE-UH Joint Research Center on Intercultural Studies is co-founded by the intercultural research teams at SUFE and the University of Helsinki. It is committed to serving China’s Belt and Road initiative by providing high-quality research, teaching and advisory work in the realms of intercultural business communication and education. The Center aims to offer, through a variety of methodologies and approaches, new perspectives as well as critical reflections on intercultural studies. Joint research projects are carried out in collaboration with researchers from foreign institutions, addressing the key issues in intercultural communication and exchange across different fields. Research outcomes will be published in Chinese, English, French, and Finnish.
The Centre is committed to investigating language policy and language management/strategy at workplace, redefining issues of intercultural competence, exploring migration and mobility in a globalized business and educational world, examining critical issues related to study abroad and internationalization, teaching intercultural communication in business and education, and promoting intercultural teacher education.
