SFS has put a premium on international experience in education. We have been exploring and offering more summer courses and exchange programs, improving the existing curricular system, and increasing the number of exchange students. It is our goal to equip students with cross-cultural and business communication skills and global vision. Experts and professors from world-renowned institutions, such as the University of Cambridge, the University of Helsinki and the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, have been invited to deliver summer courses. These have included “Language and Reality,” “Practical Translation,” “Cross-Cultural Business Communication Skill,” “Critical Intercultural Communication: Concepts and Practices,” and “Finance and Film: Representations of Capitalism in American Cinema.” Integrating theoretical and practical issues, these courses have laid a solid foundation for students’ subsequent study in humanities and broadened their academic horizons. Such courses testify to SFS’s development of cooperative teaching and research programs at an international, intercollegiate level. Every year, there are over 50% of undergraduates at SFS taking part in various study-abroad programs and exchange programs. They have participated in a half or a whole year program at more than ten top universities in the world, such as Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Cambridge, University College London, and the London School of Economics and Political Science. In addition, by optimizing its second foreign language course, SFS seeks to foster more multilingual talents.
