Established in 2012, the Institute of Modern Linguistics has a research team made up of young and seasoned academics at SFS. By integrating the research interests of these scholars in linguistics and applied linguistics, the Institute provides a platform to keep abreast of developments in modern linguistics by holding seminars and workshops on a regular basis. It facilitates the discussion and sharing of research findings, stimulate fresh thinking, and enhance research quality. The Institute is also engaged in academic exchanges and collaboration with universities and institutes at home and abroad, encouraging joint research projects in various fields, such as the theories and applications of linguistics, the studies of business English, the theory and practice of foreign language teaching.
