Established in 2009, the English Testing Center has brought together the research resources of SFS and other institutions in Shanghai. It focuses on two basic research areas (English test and the test of cross-cultural business English) and one applied area (English teaching, learning and assessment). It is mainly responsible for the design of the CET (College English Test)-4 and CET-6 online exams, the TEM (Test for English Majors)-4 and TEM-8 exams, the TBEM (Test for Business English Majors)-4 and TBEM-8 exams. The Center also works on the qualification standards for the national business English practical skills and the testing system for SFS’s Business English program.
